Incorrect or fluctuating relative humidity and airborne pollutants such
as bacteria, germs, spores and particularly corrosive vapours, are major
causes of irreparable damage to cultural property.
To prevent this damage GLASBAU HAHN offers a range of active climate
control systems. All systems operate with a common principle: filters
absorb dust and pollutants, continuously “rinsing” the exhibition
space with this filtered clean air. Thus, a slight overpressure is created
within the display case, and unfiltered air from the outside is unable
to enter the case interior.
With GLASBAU HAHN’s new HAHN RK-2-MOL® CLEAN-Process harmful
germs, spores and particularly corrosive vapours like sulphur dioxide
within the ambient air are significantly reduced or destroyed prior to
entering the display case. This way, material damages caused by airborne
pollutants are prevented.
The key technology of the HAHN RK-2-MOL® CLEAN-Process is a heterogeneous
catalytic converter introduced into the water bath of the HAHN RK-2 Unit
by means of a wire mesh. Under proper operation it will provide an air
purification level fully satisfying conservatory demands. The independent
Institute DTE Dr. Tauchnitz Engineering and the certified testing lab
Mattersteig & Co Engineers have reviewed and tested the process and
its excellent results.
The device has been GS certified.
The HAHN RK-2-MOL® CLEAN-Process is also introduced to the temperature
and Nitrogen modules when a constant relative humidity is desired.

The climate control devices are modular.
They can be connected to our software program HAHN CON-TROL which
registers the relative humidity and temperature data which can then
be checked from remote locations.
